Kane County will hold its annual Tax Sale on Monday, October 29, 2018.The tax sale will start at 9:00 a.m.It will be held at the Kane County Government Center, 719 South Batavia Avenue, in Geneva, IL.You must be registered to participate. Registration will begin on September 17, 2018, and end on October 12, 2018, at the Kane County Treasurerís Office, during office hours. All registrations received before or after this time will be returned. A $500.00 payment is required with your registration. $450.00 is a deposit to be applied to your purchases at the sale. There will be no refunds of deposits, unless a refund request is made in person at the Treasurerís office while the sale is in progress. If you do not attend the sale the deposit is forfeited. You must be physically present to participate in the sale. Registration entitles you to one (1) seat in the board room during the sale and a bidderís paddle.Also, a copy of the bid list will be provided by email the weekend before the sale. It is the responsibility of the bidder to supply a valid email address to obtain this list. Bidder sign in and purchase deposits will begin at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the sale. There is no advantage for early arrival. Seating is done by lottery immediately prior to the sale start time of 9:00 a.m. Every effort is made to ensure that a fair opportunity is provided to all buyers. Please be considerate to the Treasurer, his staff and other buyers. All decisions of the Treasurer are final.Inappropriate behavior towards the Treasurer, his staff or other buyers may result in your removal from the sale. A delinquent tax list is published in a local newspaper approximately three (3) weeks prior to the sale. Please note that participation in the sale involves significant risk. Tax sale procedures are outlined in the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 35 Act 200. Please do not ask the Treasurer or his staff for legal or bidding advice. The tax sale is open to the public as seating permits.

There is no charge to observe the sale.
